The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.
No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
